Web Design Process

There are three responses to a piece of design – yes, no, and WOW! Wow is the one to iMobtree Solutions aim for.

Web design

There are numerous steps in the web site design and development process. From gathering initial information, to the creation of your web site, and finally to maintenance to keep your web site up to date and current. When putting together the main business portion of this site, iMobtree Solutions team wrote an article that outlines the Six Phases of the Web Site Design & Development Process. The article is slanted to how we personally help client’s through the process of creating their web design projects.

Planning Stage

Taking a consideration on below defined web design issues, iMobtree Solutions has a fully planed design to work in standard flow.

  • Requirements analysis
  • Project charter
  • Site map
  • Gain access to servers and build folder structure
  • Determine required software and resources (stock photography, fonts, etc.)

Gathering Content

The second step in designing a successful website is to gather information. This is an extremely important step since it requires a solid understanding of iMobtree Solutions, its goals, target audience and requirements of the client.
This phase requires a web designer to ask tons of questions to the client before starting the project. Certain questions that should be considered by our web designers are:

  • What is the purpose of the website? Do you want to provide information, promote a service or sell a product?
  • What do you hope to accomplish with this website?
  • Who is the target audience?
  • What is the scope of the project?
  • What are your technical and non-technical requirements? What are your preferences?

It is important for a designer to gather as much relevant information as possible. Answer to all these questions will help you save time and resources.

Plan Structure

Many designers skip this crucial step and go right into visual design. Or, they try to combine the information architecture and visual design cycles to do them simultaneously. This can have negative consequences on your website in the end. Creating quality content is one thing, but making it easy to find and consume is another. iMobtree Solutions create design that users can understand navigation and layout of web site, they should have no trouble browsing through content.

When the visual design cycle starts, Our designer uses the content to design pixel perfect mockups. Pixel perfect mockups are high fidelity composites that show how the product will look with the content and information architecture together. The reason you want your mockups to look perfect before moving into development is because once it’s in development, any changes made to the design can cost a lot time and money. Changing the design is not as easy for a developer, as it is for a designer. That’s why we never iterate in the development cycle.

At this point, iMobtree solutions will attend to the final details and test your web site. We will test things such as the complete functionality of forms or other scripts, as well last testing for last minute compatibility issues (viewing differences between different web browsers), ensuring that your web site is optimized to be viewed properly in the most recent browser versions.Once our designer gives final approval, it is time to deliver the site. An FTP (File Transfer Protocol) program is used to upload the web site files to your server. Some web designers offer domain name registration and web hosting services as well, or have recommendations as to where you can host your site. Once these accounts have been setup, and your web site uploaded to the server, the site should be put through one last run-through. This is just precautionary, to confirm that all files have been uploaded correctly, and that the site continues to be fully functional. Other final details include plugin installation (for WordPress or other CMS driven web sites and SEO (Search Engine Optimization).

The development of your web site is not necessarily over, though. One way to bring repeat visitors to your site is to offer new content or products on a regular basis. iMobtree Solutions drive your web site by a CMS that gives you the ability to edit the content areas of the web site yourself. You are given access to a back-end administrative area, where you can use an online text editor. It’s really up to you as far as how comfortable you feel with updating your own web site.
